NCI is a temple that serves people day & night: Shri Vishwas Nangre Patil

Nagpur Police Commissioner Shri Vishwas Nangre Patil said that the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is a temple that serves people day and night and takes them from darkness to light.
Nangre Patil was speaking as the chief guest at a programme commemorating NCI’s 14th Foundation Month at its Jamtha campus on Saturday.
Shri Shailesh Joglekar, General Secretary and CEO of NCI, Dr Anand Pathak, Medical Director, and Shri Anand Aurangabadkar, Treasurer, were present on the dais.
Quoting extensively from the Bhagavad Gita, Nangre Patil said that Karma is about selfless service. “NCI is a dream come true—a dream that some friends had envisioned decades ago. These friends transformed their pain into a passionate mission,” he said, referring to Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Shri Shailesh Joglekar, General Secretary and CEO of NCI, who turned their vision into a reality.
Nangre Patil appreciated the teamwork that has helped NCI scale new heights within a few years of its inception. “Together, we can win. People here are working in a missionary mode. I haven’t seen a hospital like this. I can say that it is world-class, will remain world-class, and has a great future,” he added.
On the occasion, Nangre Patil presented NCI’s Employee of the Year Award to Dr Amol Banait (Clinical), Neha Bante (Nursing), and Pravin Parate (General Administration). Special Commendations were presented to Dr Preeti Manwatkar (Clinical), Swati Dhale (Nursing), and Bhagwat Meshram (General Administration).
Earlier, Shri Joglekar spoke about the future projects of NCI’s parent body, Dr Aabaji Thatte Sewa Aur Anusandhan Sanstha, in healthcare and medical education. Dr Pathak presented NCI’s growth story and clinical advances.
Karishma Tiwari conducted the event and proposed the vote of thanks.
