International Diplomats and Media Leaders Visit National Cancer Institute, Nagpur

Ms Petra Theman, Consul General of Finland in Mumbai; Mr Patrick Leverino, Consul General of France in Mumbai; Ms Monica Ommundsen Nagelgaard, Consul General of Norway in Mumbai; Ms Sarita Kaushik, Executive Editor, ABP Majha; and Mr Nilesh Khare, COO, Saam TV, visited the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Nagpur, on Friday.

Adv. Sunil Manohar, President, NCI; Mr Shailesh Joglekar, General Secretary and CEO, NCI; Dr Anand Pathak, Medical Director; and Dr Pradeep Mishra, Chief Medical Officer, welcomed the distinguished guests.

During their visit, the guests toured the comprehensive cancer care facility and interacted with the NCI management team. They appreciated the institute’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and clinical services, describing them as world-class.

The visiting diplomats expressed particular interest in NCI’s efforts to support countries seeking to strengthen their cancer care capabilities, especially in the areas of oncology education, medical training and cancer care services. They also appreciated NCI’s initiatives to promote and strengthen research in oncology.

The visit provided an opportunity to explore potential avenues for knowledge exchange, collaboration and capacity building in cancer care, with a shared focus on improving access to quality cancer treatment and strengthening oncology expertise globally.
